The Stanton County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man on Monday who was wanted out of Illinois.
Around 8:10 a.m., the sheriff’s office stopped a speeding vehicle on Highway 275 north of Stanton, said sheriff Mike Unger in a press release.
Upon having contact with the driver, it was found that he had an active felony warrant out of Rock County, Illinois, for failure to appear.
Dillard McCoy Cook, 44, of St. Cloud, Florida, was subsequently taken into custody and booked at the sheriff’s office, Unger said. Cook was brought in front of a judge, at which time he waived extradition back to Illinois.
